AI x Culture Symposium

TK Park, Bangkok
January 25, 2025
The AI X Culture Symposium was an event exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and cultural expression, featuring performances, panels, and demonstrations that bridge classical Thai culture with cutting-edge technology. Through dance, dialogue, and interactive experiences, the workshop examined how AI can enhance and preserve cultural heritage while creating new forms of artistic expression. The symposium was organized by the MIT Media Lab, Creatorsgarten, TK Park and Pichet Klunchun Dance Company.

I shared the audiences my approach to writing new electronic Thai music for Pichet’s show “Cyber Subin”. I covered the bias of machine learning models, especially for music generation, and how I get around some of these issues with my own tools and technologies. I also chatted about how working with Thai dancers from Khon โขน dance changed the way approach rhythm in my music. The กราวใน Kraw Nai and Kraw Nok กราวนอก rhythms have now standard repertoire in music.
