Blaqlyte is an all-in-one magazine, venue, fashion brand and music label focusing on the bleeding edge of alternative and underground culture in Thailand and Southeast Asia. It’s become one of my favorite online destinations to experience the pulse of cool and alternative music and art from local artists I would have never bumped into. From underground lofi hiphop with Thai rap to club culture in the Philipines—it’s all there. A couple of weeks ago, Blaqlyte did a feature my unique approach to Thai electronic bass music. We got really deep into conversation about the Phi ปี่, rhythms from *Khon* dance โขน like the Kraw Nai กราวใน and my unique approach to synthesizing new instruments and textures rooted in Thai history. Mike Steyels, who writes for Blaqlyte and conducted the interview with me, also writes for many other publications. I learned a lot about Thai calligraphic history through his story for Neo Cha.
