The lyrics of the song you hear is actually the full name of Bangkok in Thai (168 letters in length and holds a Guinness World Record) which translates to the city of angels. I’m so glad Paul threw this track onto my radar to do something fun with. Together with @kidbuoksip, we choreographed the music, lights, visuals and dance to signify angels descending upon Bangkok to wish everyone a happy new year!
This scene is a contemporary interpretation of the story Phra Suthon-Manorah (พระสุธนมโนราห์), where the bird-maiden Manorah (มโนราห์) is about to be sacrificed in a raging fire but courageously flies off in a daring escape.
This part is a modern take on the story of Phra Suthon-Manorah (พระสุธนมโนราห์), where Suthon (สุธน) is in search of his lover, Manorah (มโนราห์). His journey lasts for 7 years, 7 months, and 7 days, testing his character and true love against treacherous mountains, forests, and seas.
This part was a modern take on the story of Phra Suthon-Manorah (พระสุธนมโนราห์), where Suthon (สุธน) is finally reunited with his lover, Manorah (มโนราห์). Manorah is a bird-maiden, a half-bird and half-human being known as a Kinnaree (กินรี) in Thai mythology.
The finale to our ICONSIAM show featured a medley of Thailand's performing arts, including โขน Khon, ลิเก Likay, หนังใหญ่ Nang Yai, มวยไทย Muay Thai, and many more. It's set to a mashup of the classic tune "Made in Thailand" by Carabao! I pulled a lot of stank face writing that bassline :)
ดาวมหาลัย (Dao Mahalai) is a luk thung classic (Thai country music) poking fun at city vs. rural lifestyles in Thailand through a young university student. One of my favorite track choices from @pauliesirisant! The Thai crowd went wild for this one!
Our visuals built on the succesful collection of dance-derived projects first premiered at SONAR Music Festival 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. We also created new landscapes to help tell the story of Suthon-Manorah and the various settings the story takes place in.
