 Before heading over to ISMIR - International Society for Music Information Retrieval Conference in Daejeon, South Korea, I made a brief stop at Seoul National University to share some of my work combining AI and Thai Music. My talk featured a live performance taken from my SONAR 2025 show and an extended conversation on using principles of Thai music in ML-based audio synthesis. Joining the session was my friend and colleague, Ezra Sandzer-Bell who delivered a wonderful presentation aimed at sensitizing research students with the product demand in the music AI industry.
Our host, the Music and Audio Research Group (MARG) led by Prof. Kyogu Lee at Seoul National University, is an interdisciplinary lab that tackles challenging problems in music and audio using digital signal processing and machine learning.Their collection of undergraduates, masters and PhD students explore areas such as music production, source separation, music recommendation, perception, singing voice synthesis and audio cognition.
