Transcultural Machine Learning for Music (Keynote)

In this Keynote for “A Bit of Thai Tunes” held at Museum of Siam, I focus on how we can design machine learning systems which work across a variety of musical cultures. I look at these technologies from the perspective of an AI Researcher, a composer and as a Cultural Technologist applying these ideas to music from Thailand and Southeast Asia.  Some of the systems I touch upon include Differentiable Digital Signal Processing (DDSP), Tone Transfer and modern LLM and diffusion-based audio systems.
