Cyber Subin Recap HERE
for the Arts (TIFA)
Cyber Subin was initially commissioned by the Taiwan Intenrational Festival for the Arts and premiered in the Experimental Theater at Taiwan’s National Theater. The movements of both people and avatars in Cyber Subin are based on “Mae Bot Yai” (59 poses from a traditional Thai masked dance, Khon) are reinterpreted through digital processes and algorithms. The dancers are invited to react, resist or dance together with the avatars, alongside a soundscape and music specially composed by yaboihanoi and his generative AI music techniques.

Cyber Subin was invited as to perform at this festival on August 15th. What set this performance apart was the extremely large stage compared to the premiere in March at the Taiwan International Festival for the Arts. This time, audience members could come up onto the stage and participate in trying to dance the movements generated by the algorithm. What an experience!

Chulalongkorn University
Super excited for Cyber Subin’s premiere in my home country at Chulalongkorn University (for readers unfamiliar with universities here, it’s like the Harvard/Oxford of Thailand)! A home coming it was indeed - with a full house and many great questions audiences asked during the Q & A.
